IV. How we handle your data (data processing)

1. How this website processes personal data

The Association, Four Motors for Europe, processes personal data via this website for the following purposes:

  • to enable you to access the website
  • to conduct statistical evaluation

The personal data which are processed within the context of this website include usage data (e.g. the pages of our website that have been visited).

During every website visit, data are collected and exchanged between your browser and our server. The State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg (Staatsministerium Baden-Württemberg) automatically collects and stores data (log file information) which your browser transfers to our server. These data are:

  • type and version of your internet browser
  • the operating system you are using
  • the webpage you are visiting
  • the previously visited webpage (referrer URL),
  • time of server request

The State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg analyses the above-mentioned data solely for statistical purposes in order to measure demand for the website. Additionally, the current presidency of the Four Motors for Europe, which you can identify on this website, has access to the website statistics. Neither of them have any way of allocating these data to a specific person. These data are not merged with other data sources.

Visitors’ anonymised IP addresses are recorded solely for the duration of the visit in Matomo (see the section VI. Technical Information). No full IP addresses are stored.

Data that were logged when you accessed the website will be transmitted to third parties only to the extent that we are obligated to by law or by a court decision, or if forwarding these data is required in the event of attacks on the internet infrastructure of the Four Motors for Europe to bring legal action or support criminal prosecution. The data will not be forwarded in other cases.

2. Voluntary provision of personal information

You have the option of providing personal information on a voluntary basis in the context of email correspondence with the contacts mentioned on this website. Information that we receive via email may in some cases be forwarded to third parties for further processing of the request. The contacted party is responsible for handling and upholding the rights mentioned in section V as they relate to the voluntary provision of personal information. Your point of contact will be happy to provide you with more details.

In the case of email contact, it may be necessary for the resolution of the concrete request in some circumstances to establish contact with authorities on a regional, national or European level; public bodies, institutions and foundations; private companies; networks, clusters, associations or comparable parties in the Four Motors regions; or the parties whose inclusion you may have requested in your inquiry. In order for each individual case to be evaluated, the party you have contacted via email must typically share your name and address with these parties. If you would like us not to pass your personal data on, inform us expressly of this in your submission. This may, however, make it considerably more difficult, or even impossible, for the Four Motors for Europe to take action.

Please note that the transmission of data online (e.g. via email) may involve security issues. Unfortunately, it is impossible to guarantee that data are secured completely against access by third parties.

Instead of using electronic options (e.g. email), you can contact us using different means. To this extent, the voluntary nature of the provision of personal data is protected at all times.

V. Your rights

1. Right of access

You have the right to obtain information about the data that are stored relating to your person at any time, informally and without justification.
