Representatives of the Four Motors for Europe exposed the growing necessity to create a network that will take advantage of the existing infrastructure and must enable citizen participation and open government in the event “Four Motors for Europe in a dialogue with citizens”, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Action of the Catalan government, last November 25th, 2020.
Representatives of the Four Motors for Europe explained the experience of their regional civil protection organisation and management of the Covid-19 pandemic, sharing their problems, acquired knowledge and learnt lessons. Moreover, in the lockdown and restrictions context, all the four associated regions are cross-border territories with other European states and consequently they had to address a variety of similar and critical issues.
Representatives of the Four Motors for Europe exposed the impact of the pandemic and lockdown from a gender-based violence perspective as well as presenting the experiences and strategies of the four regions in tackling them. The online event took place on October 28 as a part of the II International Congress for Elimination of Gender-Based Violence and was followed by more than 180 viewers.
Representatives of the Four Motors for Europe reinforced their commitment to the economic and social recovery in the context of the COVID-19 crisis in the Four Motors for Europe’s side event of the European Week of Regions and Cities that took place on October 12th 2020.
The in-person meeting in Milan for the political talks and the celebration of the handover of the presidency of the Four Motors for Europe has proved a real value for the political delegations of Lombardy, Catalonia, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Baden-Württemberg.
Experts of the Working Group Culture of the Four Motors for Europe met via videoconference on 29th June 2020 in order to present and discuss measures implemented to support and foster culture during and after the emergency and to bring together ideas on innovative ways to produce, offer, and enjoy culture.
