Upcoming events of the Four Motors for Europe

1. Joint economic mission to Brussels and Flanders, 23-24 November

Each year, the Region holding the presidency of the Four Motors for Europe organises a joint economic mission for companies on specific sectors in another European region.

This year the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region and the regional economic development agency, Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Enterprises, proposed a joint mission in Brussels and Flanders on 23 and 24 November focused on green chemistry, advanced materials and recycling of plastics.

This mission is open to companies and clusters from the four Regions and from Wales (Flanders and Wales being associated members of the Four Motors).

The delegations will meet in Brussels on 23 November for a networking event, with a first opportunity to exchange and a round table aiming at sharing good practices from the Four Motors in the field of green chemistry, advanced materials and plastic recycling. The delegation will then travel to Ghent and Antwerp for visits of sites and B2B meetings.

This company mission is organized jointly with the Enterprise Europe Network and the Flemish economic actors.

2. Mondial des Métiers, 1-4 December in Lyon

The Mondial des Métiers is an annual event organized with the support of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, which brings together professionals and young people in training and offers demonstrations to learn more about trades and the world of work.

This year, the event will take place from 1 to 4 December at Eurexpo Lyon:

- 68 professional fields and themes represented ;

- more than 700 trades, including 100 trades in demonstration ;

- more than 400 exhibitors and 4000 participants.

For the first time, the Four Motors for Europe will have a joint booth, including an institutional space and hairdressing and industrial robotics demonstrations that will be performed by apprentices from the four Regions. 

3. Conference on disability (Forum extraordinaire), 5 December in Lyon

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region holds every year a regional conference called Forum extraordinaire, that gathers stakeholders who work for the inclusion of people with disabilities, to encourage new collaborations, to promote innovative initiatives, but also to change the way people look at disability.

In 2022, in the framework of its presidency of the Four Motors for Europe, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region wishes to give a European dimension to this event and invite experts from Baden-Wurttemberg, Catalonia and Lombardy to present their strategies and share good practices.

4. Handover ceremony, 20 March 2023 in Lyon

The rotating presidency of the Four Motors for Europe lasts approximately one year and culminates with a high-level political meeting as a part of the presidency handover ceremony.

The Four Motors for Europe will celebrate the handover of the presidency from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes to Baden-Württemberg on 20 March 2023 in Lyon.
