Start-Up BW Night in Mannheim

On July 12 and 13, 2023, Baden-Württemberg brought together representatives from the Four Motors for Europe - Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, Catalonia and Lombardy - as part of the Start-Up BW Night in Mannheim.

"The Start-up BW Night offers the opportunity to experience the diversity and innovative power of Baden-Württemberg's start-up scene at first hand." said Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut MdL, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of the state of Baden-Württemberg. This opportunity should also be available to our partner regions of the Four Motors. So numerous start-ups from our partner regions accepted the invitation to Mannheim.

Start-ups are an important part of the transition and an elementary component of change. The role of the Four Motors as pioneers and innovative players of the future is something Baden-Württemberg would like to further deepen in its presidency.

The annual Start-Up BW Night provides a good framework for this, as it unites people with an interest in self-employment, founders, start-ups, young and established companies, as well as capital providers, and creates the optimal platform for a good exchange. The start-ups had the opportunity to pitch there and to exchange with local start-ups.

In addition to the visit to the Start-up BW Night, an extensive program took place for the delegation. This included a visit to the technology center MAFINEX. There, the start-ups from our partner regions had the opportunity to learn about the start-up scene in Mannheim and to establish contacts with local start-ups. Mannheim is one of the cities with the highest concentration of start-ups. In addition, it is one of the cities with the highest density of start-ups, as well as a real pioneer in terms of start-up infrastructure and support.
