„Together for Peace and Freedom”: International youth event on Europe in the State Parliament [Landtag] of Baden-Württemberg.

On 8 May 2023, the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg invited students from the Four Motors for Europe regions as well as from Grand-Est and Ukraine to celebrate Europe on the 78th anniversary of the end of World War 2.

On 8 May 2023, the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg invited students from the Four Motors for Europe regions as well as from Grand-Est and Ukraine to celebrate Europe on the 78th anniversary of the end of World War 2. Muhterem Aras, president of the parliament, hosted the youth event, which was held under the motto “Together for Peace and Freedom”. The event focused on how to create and preserve peace in Europe and how to secure freedom. Florian Hassler, State secretary for Europe, emphasised the crucial role the youth plays for Europe and its future. The meeting included discussions among students and parliamentarians, with input from the results of the Conference on the Future of Europe. Nicolas Knoblauch, this year’s winner of the "Speech about Europe" competition performed his poem “Geist des Friedens” (“spirit of peace”). The musician Ezé Wenditon from Burkina Faso accompanied the event with his interpretation of the European anthem.
