The Lombardy Region, which set the Agriculture 4.0 and the role of the innovative platforms among the priorities of work and cooperation, has therefore inaugurated the activities with the partner regions with a joint presence to the Seeds & Chips summit as a unique global platform capable of contributing to the evolution of the global debate on the future of the agri-food supply chain, highlighting the very close link existing between food, innovation, technology and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The conference was opened by the President and founder of Seeds & Chips Mr. Marco Gualtieri and was moderated by the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Lombardy Region Alan Christian Rizzi. The speakers were the Auvergne Rhone Alpes Vice-President Stéphanie Pernod-Beaudon with responsibility for training, apprenticeship and sport, the Delegate of the Government of Catalonia in Italy Luca Bellizzi, the Head of IRTA International Business Development - Catalan Institute for Research and agri-food technology- Eva Ogue, the Baden Wuerttemberg Director of the Marketing and Agri-food Industry Unit Bruno Krieglstein, the coordinator of the Smart Agri-food Observatory of the Milan Polytechnic Chiara Corbo.
The participation of the Four Motors for Europe to the Seeds & Chips event was intended to meet several objectives: to keep alive the legacy of Expo Milano 2015, whose themes are at the centre of the partner regions development programs and are transversally imbedded into multiple policy areas; to highlight the ability of the four regions to combine public institutions, private sector and research institutions with the aim to support the evolution of the entire food chain; to identify further opportunities of cooperation among the most dynamic and innovative European institutional and non-governmental actors.
